1. My Hunter Story (what is your relationship with the Hunter/Newcastle, how long have you been here).
I am a Pom who strayed into Novocastrian territory 9 years ago. I will have to wait fifty years before I'm considered a local. In the meantime
I can be found behind the bar at Reserve pouring wines to real locals
2. The local secret (that I’m prepared to share is)…
I can't share that with you unless you give me a brown paper bag with unmarked notes
3. Local life is …
Colourful, Frustrating, Innovative and enlightening
4. One thing that’s good to know when visiting…
The beaches may have sharks!
5. Three things you must do when visiting Newcastle ...
a. Do the coastal walk grabbing a coffee at Estabar, a swim at Mereweather baths and then a drink at the Surfhouse overlooking the ocean.
b. Head to the Sunday growers markets at the show ground for amazing regional produce, especially meat and artisan bakers.
c. Walk around the east end of town and check out the quirky architecture and make sure to stop at some at some great venues to enjoy a drink.
